A Hull nightclub is raising money to help injured Hull KR player Mose Masoe.

Piper nightclub in Newland Avenue says it will be raising money to help swell the fund set up to support Masoe and his family.

Masoe left intensive care on Thursday as he continues to recover from emergency surgery on a spinal injury suffered in Hull KR's opening pre-season friendly two weeks ago.

Hull KR coach Tony Smith confirmed that Masoe, 30, will never play again.

Donations have been flooding in from across the globe after KR's Community Trust set up a JustGiving page.

The latest to donate is Piper nightclub, which will be using its relaunched Seductive Saturday's night on February 1 to raise money for the Hulll KR player.

Half of all entry fees will be donated and there will also be a chance to donate inside as bucket collections will be going on throughout the night.

DJ and Hull KR fan Darren Williams will be on the decks for the fundraiser.

A spokesman for Piper said: "On Saturday 1st February we launch Seductive Saturdays. An event which over the years has been extremely popular with rugby fans from both sides of the city as well as players from Hull KR and Hull FC.

"To show our gratitude for the support both club's players and fans have showed the event and The Piper over the years and in response to the horrific injury recently suffered by Hull KR prop Mose Masoe, on the relaunch night we will be donating 50 per cent of all door takings to Mose's Just Giving page in support of the big man and his family.

"There will also be bucket collections around the venue on the night of the event.

"Over Christmas Mose and his Hull KR team mates joined us to party at The Piper and have done so on regular occasions when their playing calendar allows. Their counterparts Hull FC have joined us for some of our biggest ever nights, most notably in 2016 and 2017, to celebrate their Challenge Cup wins.

"With this in mind alongside DJ Darren Williams being a Hull KR season pass holder and Piper general manager Tom being a Hull FC season pass holder we collectively agreed it's our time to give back to Mose and the wider Rugby League family in Hull."
