Monkeypox vaccine 'short supply' as cases rise in Scotland

Monkeypoxvaccine is in "global shortage" after two more cases in Scotland than last week. Dr Nick Phin of Public Health Scotlandexplained that Jab's supply problem is due to him being manufactured by one company for the whole world.

His 100,000 doses ordered by the UK government are expected to be delivered next month, and about 3,000 doses have been distributed to the Scottish Health Commission.

The news brings the number of cases in Scotland by two, bringing the total to 69 since the Public Health Service of Scotland (PHS) last updated it on Friday. Most cases were women, although only one was female.

According to Dr. Ping, the latest figures show that between 700 and 800 vaccines have been administered. Priority groups for vaccination are men who have sex with other men and health care workers.

Dr Finn said that "most, if not all, cases" have recently come from overseas or Visited London. NHS GreaterGlasgowand Clyde Health Improvement Manager Nicky Coir said at a briefing to journalists on Tuesday that 6,000 to 6,500 people will be vaccinated as soon as possible to address the outbreak.

"Vaccines are in short supply and there is one. Manufacturers who until recently produced only enough stock in a very limited number of countries."

"We are ramping up production now, and in fact most countries around the world are almost competing to get what they think they need.

“Demand outstrips supply. The situation has been, and the UK has actually led the game in numbers and quantities that we have been able to get.

Dr. Phin continued, "We are not inviting people. We know we have enough vaccines to give them, and the global supply of vaccines is limited." Until we return to the rather circular argument of Make the most of it.

Dr. Phin also expressed confidence in the effectiveness of vaccination, stating that It said it was "98-99%" effective, adding: Efficacy of this vaccine.

Coir also emphasized the importance of the groups most at risk of contracting the virus taking action to protect themselves. I explained that some people will have to wait a while, so for the time being I think people in sexual networks where monkeypox might be present are good. Have sex with fewer partners," he said.

"Condoms are also good at protecting against sexually transmitted diseases and HIV, but unfortunately condoms do not protect against monkeypox. Keep using condoms." But condoms are not the only method of protection.”[79] He also frequently checks the skin of people at risk of the virus for lesions that may be associated with the virus.
