Murder suspect grabs detectives gun during interview

Terrell Rhodes, 27, had allegedly just confessed to beating two-year-old Amari Nicholson to death when he snatched the handgun – and began wrestling with officers who desperately tried to disarm him.

The frantic struggle was caught on camera inside a police station in Las Vegas and footage shows the moment Rhodes grasps the gun with both hands while three officers attempt to take it from him.

The cops grapple with him and one of them can be seen punching Rhodes in the head while he holds the gun close to his chest.

‘Terrell, drop the gun’, one of the cops is heard saying, adding ‘you’re making things worse’.

It took four officers more than a minute of tense wrestling to get the gun out of Rhodes’ possession.

It’s not clear what Rhodes’ intention was when he nicked the gun, but he has since been charged with attempted murder following the scuffle with police.

Rhodes was arrested for allegedly killed his girlfriend’s young son, Amari, last month because the boy wet himself, the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

Amari disappeared May 5 and his body was found on May 12, buried under a wall in a parking lot next to a McDonald’s.

According to police Rhodes led them to the scene and was subsequently indicted on murder charges for Amari’s death.

He has previously served time in prison on robbery and burglary convictions in 2017 and 2018, according to court records.

Rhodes is due back in court on June 25 accused with murdering Amari.
