Mom, 32, and four young kids killed after semi-truck runs stop sign, smashing into their SUV

A MOTHER and her four young children were tragically killed after a truck allegedly ran a stop sign and smashed into their SUV on Friday.

Authorities responded to the crash site near Viola, Kansas, where the truck and SUV collided around 5pm.

The family members were later identified as Jessica Noel, 32, Anaiah Brady, 10, Jeffrey Thompson III, four, Mack Thompson, one, and Hank Thompson -- who was just four months old.

Jessica, Anaiah, Jeffrey, and Hank died on impact after the crash, and little Mack was taken to the hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries, according to KAKE.

The mom had reportedly taken the children out for a trip to the grocery store when they were hit by the truck.

A GoFundMe page has been set up for the family on behalf of the father, Jeffrey Williams, and has already surpassed its goal of $80,000 to help pay for medical bills and funeral expenses.

It provides some additional heartbreaking details about the accident.

"On Friday, September 25th, 2020, my Uncle Jeff returned home with my cousin Brooklyn (10) after work to an empty house after his wife said she was getting groceries but had not returned with the four other children," the page says.

"Jeff made phone calls and then got a call from a good friend concerned about a car accident close to their home. Jeff went to the scene of the accident."

The page continues to allege that the truck driver ran through a stop sign and plowed into the SUV at 55 mph, though an official investigation is currently underway into how the accident occurred, according to reports.

The truck driver's name was not released, but reports say that the person was not seriously injured and was taken to an investigation center after the accident to be interviewed.

It's unclear at this time if any charges will be brought.

The GoFundMe page continues to say that the father and 10-year-old Brooklyn "are the only members left of his entire family after his horrific tragedy."

The page asks for "assistance to pay for the medical expenses and funeral arrangements for all 5 members of the family."

"Anything you can give will be appreciated during this extremely difficult time of grief and unfathomable loss."
