A MOM handed over her starving newborn to a drug dealer as collateral until she found enough cash to redeem her baby.
Amy Colyer, 26, of Wichita Falls in Texas, dumped the five week-old girl with a man she owed money to at a local “dope house”.
Police were reportedly called by the girlfriend of the drug-dealer in may 2017 who had claimed she had found the baby, although this was found to be false.
Social services took custody of the little girl, who was so hungry she rapidly drank four bottles of formula in a row.
When police tracked down Colyer she said she had been afraid to tell them because she had previously had other kids removed from her by social services.
Colyer told police she returned to the drug den to try to retrieve her baby.
But she claimed she was told she could not have her until she paid the cash owed.
She was originally handed five years’ probation over that incident - but this has been breached by a recent crime.
