Molly-Mae Hague pays emotional tribute to Nikki Grahame and calls for anorexia to be taken more seriously

The Sun

Molly-Mae Hague has paid an emotional tribute to Nikki Grahame and has called for "terrifying and terrible" anorexia to be taken more seriously.

The 21-year old shared a touching post saying that more needs to be done for those with an eating disorder.

The Big Brother star died on Friday at the age of 38 after a long battle with anorexia.

Molly-Mae took to social media to share a photo of the TV star, writing: "Fly high Nikki. Taken by such a terrifying and terrible disease that must be taken more seriously."

Tributes have since poured in for the reality star including Big Brother's original host Davina McCall  who struggled to find the words to talk about the "iconic" star.

"It felt odd that I had posted something on Twitter and not on her," she wrote on Instagram.

EVERY 90 minutes in the UK a life is lost to suicide.

It doesn't discriminate, touching the lives of people in every corner of society - from the homeless and unemployed to builders and doctors, reality stars and footballers.

It's the biggest killer of people under the age of 35, more deadly than cancer and car crashes.

And men are three times more likely to take their own life than women.

Yet it's rarely spoken of, a taboo that threatens to continue its deadly rampage unless we all stop and take notice, now.

That is why The Sun launched the You're Not Alone campaign.

The aim is that by sharing practical advice, raising awareness and breaking down the barriers people face when talking about their mental health, we can all do our bit to help save lives.

Let's all vow to ask for help when we need it, and listen out for others... You're Not Alone.

If you, or anyone you know, needs help dealing with mental health problems, the following organisations provide support:

"I’ve typed and deleted three times... I can’t find the words... it’s just really tragic.

"She was iconic. In the true sense of the word.

"Whose catch phrases will be with me forever ❤️ sending so much love to her friends and family. "I’m so sorry. The pain you and she must have endured .... x 💔 RIP Nikki."

Davina also tweeted: "I am so desperately sad to hear about Nikki Grahame x my thoughts are with her friends and family xx she really was the funniest , most bubbly sweetest girl x"

Meanwhile, Davina's replacement host Emma Willis has also been reflecting on her memories with Nikki.

"Heartbreaking news about Nikki," she wrote on Instagram.

"A legend in our Big Brother family who was captivating to watch and an absolute sweetheart to be around.

"My thoughts and love go out to her family and friends..."

The Big Brother star checked into a private hospital to treat her eating disorder last month after her desperate friends managed to raise more than £65,500 to start paying for life-saving care.

But despite her doting friends' help Nikki lost her battle with her life-long eating disorder this week.

Nikki Grahame's Big Brother ex Pete Bennett rushed to her side in a cab to see her before she died aged 38
