Michael Stewart was reportedly pulled from BBC Radio Scotland's coverage just hours before he was due to cover tonight's Hearts vs Kilmarnock match.

According to The Sun, the pundit was due to cover tonight's match at Tynecastle as a co-commentator but was told just hours beforehand that his services would not be required.

Stewart has also been left unsure whether he'll take his regular place on Sportscene tomorrow night to recap the action from the midweek Premiership games.

But the former Hearts and Hibs midfielder was publicly defiant as he thanked fans for their support in both English and Spanish.

The latter was a reference to a mistranslated interview with Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos broadcast by Sky Sports.

He will be on screens tonight, however, joining the panel on BT Sport for coverage of Motherwell vs Celtic at Fir Park.

He will be alongside Chris Sutton, Gordon Strachan and Stephen Craigan.
