Everyone knows about the relationship Steven Gerrard and Jermain Defoe had as players for England.
Now a throwback from Michael Beale has revealed Defoe had a relationship with Rangers' coaching team long before Gerrard.
Beale retired from playing at a very young age but spent time with Charlton as an U18 before moving onto coaching.
His coaching career has been much more successful having been at Chelsea, Liverpool and Sao Paulo before rocking up at Glasgow.
His reputation continues to grow but it turns out Defoe played alongside Beale during their time at Charlton.
Defoe spent two years as a youth with Charlton before moving on to West Ham but there was also some other good players in that team.
It included Paul Konchesky - who went on to play for Liverpool and England - Scott Parker and Muzzy Izzet.
The brilliant picture has Defoe in the front row with Beale at the back alongside him.
