Meghan Markle news latest – Fury as Prince Harry & Meg sign £18m Spotify deal then take 5 months off after 35mins work’

THERE is anger today at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle broadcasting just 35 minutes of content after their £18million Spotify podcast deal.

Streaming giant bosses were “looking forward to a full-scale launch of shows” this year - but Harry and Meghan have so far failed to follow up on their Christmas 2020 special.

And now, having spent seven months without publishing new Spotify content, the pair have decided to take several months off following the birth of their new baby daughter Lilibet.

Royal author Phil Dampier said: “We’re being told they’re having up to five months off and people who are paying them a lot of money will expect something in return.

“They seem to be using up a lot of ammunition very early and putting a lot of stuff out there in terms of deals and agreements with lots of firms.

“The question might be asked whether they have too much on their plate.”

Thomas Markle said yesterday that he was desperate to rebuild his relationship with Meghan, 39, and “just wants an answer” on why he has been frozen out.

The 76-year-old has not spoken to her since days before she married Prince Harry, 36, in 2018. But he said in an interview on Australian TV he hoped new arrival Lilibet may offer a way to a reunion.

  • WHAT IS KATE MIDDLETON’S EARLY YEARS PROJECTS? (CONTINUED...)

A royal aide said: “The Duchess has made the observation that the more you learn about the science of early childhood, whether it’s brain development, social science, what it means for our adult mental health, the more you realise that this is the social equivalent to climate change, but it is not discussed with the same seriousness or strategic intent that that issue is.

"And so, her mission for the last few years has been exploring what is the best way for her to build something, build relationships, her own knowledge, expertise, so that she can help position this work with that sort of importance.”

The launch comes as research commissioned by The Royal Foundation revealed the Covid crisis has created a spike in the number of mums and dads feeling isolated.

According to the new figures, 16 per cent of parents of young children felt lonely in May.

This was almost double the figure in October last year.

  • EXPLAINED: WHAT IS KATE MIDDLETON'S EARLY YEARS PROJECTS?

Kate, a mother of three, has worked on Early Years projects for a decade.

She has said she hopes to put the Early Years on an equal footing with the other great social challenges of our time during an online forum hosted by The Royal Foundation.

Last week, the Duchess visited Connor Downs Academy in Cornwall with First Lady Jill Biden.

In a passionate plea to launch a 56-page Big Change Starts Small report, the duchess said it is a "golden opportunity to create a happier, more mentally healthy, more nurturing society".

The centre, which is based at royal offices with half a dozen staff,  will commission research, awareness and projects for early years development.

PRINCESS Diana said she never wanted to get married again after splitting from Prince Charles, a British journalist has claimed.

Ahead of what would have been Princess Diana's 60th birthday, Petronella Wyatt recalled meeting her on several occasions in the years before she died in 1997.

Writing for The Sun, Petronella explained how she attended the same small dinner party as Diana in the summer of 1995.

Explaining how Diana "slipped in quietly", Petronella said the late Royal wore a chic and "simply cut" blue shift dress which offset her "sapphire" eyes.

  • PRINCE HARRY COULD FACE A WEEK APART FROM NEWBORN LILIBET

As Harry flies back to Britain to honour Princess Diana’s statue unveiling, he faces the prospect of as long as 10 days away from Meghan and newborn daughter, Lilibet.

The Duke of Sussex and his brother, William have worked together for years to design a fitting monument in their mother’s honour. That may not have been so easy recently due to the family feud that has heated up within the Royal Family.

An insider told Newsweek that Meghan won’t be going – sparing her a trip back to the palace where, as she told Oprah Winfrey during an interview, she had to turn over her keys, driver’s licence and passport

  • MEGHAN MARKLE WON’T FLY TO UK TO SUPPORT HARRY AT DIANA MEMORIAL

Meghan Markle will not fly back to the UK with Prince Harry at the unveiling of the Princess Diana statue.

Debate was ongoing over whether the Duchess of Sussex, 39, would attend the ceremony after she gave birth to baby Lilibet Diana just 12 days ago.

But The Sun understands Meghan will stay in the US with Archie and baby Lili instead of making the 5,000-mile trip from California.

It comes after The Sun Online exclusively revealed how Meghan would not travel to the UK.

  • MEGHAN MARKLE WON’T FLY TO UK TO SUPPORT HARRY AT DIANA MEMORIAL (Continued...)

The confirmation was also released after royal sources told a US media site she would come back to support her husband as family relations have "worsened" since Prince Philip's funeral.

The insider told Radar Online: "Meghan knows how hard it was to attend his grandfather’s funeral alone and doesn’t want that to happen again.

"Harry was given the cold shoulder by most of his relatives, with several refusing to talk to him or even make eye contact.

"Since the funeral things have got worse, not better, so you can only imagine how he will be treated at the big event on July 1."

  • ROYAL EXPERT SAYS: 'MEGHAN AND DIANA BOTH WANTED SOMETHING FROM THE QUEEN THEY DIDN'T GET'

Royal author Matthew Dennison traced the Queen's life in a new biography looking at the longest-reigning sovereign in British history, from the triumphs and joys to the lows and disappointments.

During the biography, he reveals some insight and uncovers secrets about Her Majesty the Queen in celebration of her birthday.

Dennison said: “She’s probably the only person who can distinguish between her as Lilibet and her as the Queen – and I suspect that Lilibet hasn’t really changed all that much over the years.

"I don’t know if Meghan was overawed in that sense because Meghan was a grown woman with experience of life when she joined the royal family whereas Diana was a young girl. But I think both women wanted something from the Queen that they didn’t get.”

“The Queen thinks – and Philip did, too – that the most important thing they’ve given to their children is this idea of service.

"It’s amazing what Prince Charles has done and I think his monarchy will resemble his mother’s because he shares her feelings about it as something special.

"When we’re young, we don’t care what we do as long as it’s different to our parents, but he’s had long enough to grow through that and reflect on the model of his parents.”

  • UNEARTHED 'RED FLAGS' BROUGHT UP YEARS LATER AS QUEEN MAKES 'SUBTLE DIG' AT HARRY AND MEGHAN, EXPERTS SAY

Royal experts have looked back on images from Ascot 2018 and noticed a 'red flag' in the way that Prince Harry arrived at the one and only race Meghan Markle attended.

The 'Red flags' were raised about Meghan and Harry's position in the Royal Family three years ago, according to experts.

Royal writer at News AU, Daniela Elser has claimed to have spotted Prince Harry's reduced status when arriving at Ascot 2018.

Harry arrived at the races with Meghan in the third carriage despite previously arriving in the first carriage with the Queen in 2016.

Elser said: "In June 2016, there alongside his grandmother in the first carriage was Prince Harry.

"That year was one that had only seen his stature in the royal firmament grow, with the Duke being tasked by his grandmother to undertake his first solo overseas tour on her behalf several months later."

  • PRINCE HARRY MIGHT STAY IN LA AHEAD OF PRINCESS DIANA’S STATUE UNVEILING, ROYAL EXPERT REVEALS

Prince Harry might skip the statue unveiling ceremony for his late mother Princess Diana in July, a royal expert has claimed.

Duncan Larcombe, royal author and expert, claimed that Meghan Markle was already unlikely to attend the event honouring her late mother-in-law, and now, Harry might not attend either.

In an interview with OK! Magazine, Larcombe said that because London is such a “trigger” for Harry, as claimed by him, he might not return for his mother’s 60th birth anniversary.

“No one I’ve spoken to believes Meghan will attend. She’s just had a baby and that’s a perfect reason to want to stay where she is. No one could criticise her for that, although I’m sure people will. Right now there’s no certainty if Harry will attend,” he said.

“He recently said that London was a trigger for him and I took those comments as a way of him preparing everyone to say that it was too painful for him to return to the site where he buried his mother,” he shared.

“He also recently announced his paternity leave, so he seems to have so many reasons to want to stay in LA with baby Lili and Meghan."

  • In a recent interview with 60 Minutes Australia, Thomas Markle slammed Oprah Winfrey claiming she “took advantage” of Meghan and Harry.

The US host has defended Oprah saying both parties saw “an opportunity” in regards to the tell-all interview back in March.

Justin Sylvester told Daily Pop: “I think Oprah saw two golden geese sitting there, ripe for the picking.”

“She knew that somebody was going to get the story, she knew that someone was going to get the £8 million, so I do agree that Oprah saw an opportunity and seized it.”

  • MEGHAN MARKLE ‘BACK ON HER FEET AND WALKING DOGS’

Meghan Markle is “back on her feet” and walking her dogs just days after giving birth to baby Lilibet, according to a friend.

After a whirlwind year for the Sussexes, they are taking family time together with their children

A friend told Closer: “The couple has been relaxing at home since becoming proud parents of Lilibet,”

“[Meghan] is already back on her feet and walking the dogs.”

They added: “Harry is a devoted family man and has been helping out around the house.

“He picks vegetables from the garden to make fresh juices for Meghan and entertains Archie when she needs to rest up

  • MEGHAN VOWED TO NEVER CALL LILI ‘BEAUTIFUL’

The Duchess of Sussex, 39, shared a powerful poem on her old Instagram page before being a royal about vowing to never call her daughter “beautiful”.

The poem, written by African-American poet Nayyirah Waheed, speaks to a daughter and says it is not her beauty that will guide her through life but her self-confidence.

It says that “knowing your worth” as a person “can save your life.”

The poem states that “every being is born beautiful” and “beauty is a given”, but raising someone on beauty alone will “starve” them and make them “raw” and “weak”.

The poem first appeared in Nayyirah’s 2013 collection Salt, but Meghan shared it with followers in 2017; the year before she married Prince Harry.

  • RICHARD MADELY: PRINCE HARRY HAS ‘LOST THE PLOT’

ITV host, Richard Madeley has expressed his thoughts on Harry’s recent spate of interviews in which he’s recalled life in the Royal Family with the presenter fearing he has ‘lost the plot’.

Harry and Meghan have hit headlines lately after involvement in a series of toxic interviews, one of which is an exclusive sit-down with Oprah Winfrey.

Whilst Harry received recognition for opening up about the death of his mother, Princess Diana, many have accused him of going against his family.

In a conversation with The Express this week, Richard said: ‘I think Harry’s lost the plot, I’m sad to say because I think, fundamentally, Harry is a decent man.

“I think he’s a decent guy, who, like many people, has had bad, difficult experiences in his life.

“I mean, very few of us lead a charmed existence, so I don’t think that makes him particularly special.”

  • MEGHAN FAILS TO BREAK INTO UK SALES TOP 50 WITH NEW BOOK

It may have been one of the most hotly anticipated children's books in recent memory - but Meghan Markle's The Bench has failed to break into the Top 50 for UK sales in its first week.

The book was said to be inspired by a poem the Duchess of Sussex wrote about Prince Harry’s first Father’s Day.

Despite not gaining a place on the Top 50, The Bench did reach the top of the charts for the best selling picture book.

Although the book may have had slow sales, it is expected to be huge hit for the book’s publishers Penguin Random House Children’s, as they have the rights that allow them to sell the English language copy globally.

  • MEGHAN MARKLE SAYS NEW BOOK COULD 'MODEL A NEW WORLD' AND SHOWS 'ANOTHER SIDE OF MASCULINITY'

Meghan Markle has boasted her children's book The Bench could "model a new world" and shows "another side of masculinity".

The new release topped the New York Times Bestsellers list for kid's picture books - with the Duchess of Sussex releasing a message of thanks as she made it to #1.

Meghan describes her first work as a published author as "a love letter to my husband and son".

It is said to be inspired by a poem she wrote about Prince Harry’s first Father’s Day which "captures moments of love and shared experiences between a diverse group of fathers and sons".

And it appears to make a veiled reference to the Megxit rift – showing a Prince Harry lookalike and the words "when life feels in shambles, you'll help find order".

On her Archewell website, Meghan said of the book's success: "While this poem began as a love letter to my husband and son, I’m encouraged to see that its universal themes of love, representation and inclusivity are resonating with communities everywhere.

  • KATE COULD MISS PRINCESS DIANA’S STATUE UNVEILING ALONGSIDE MEGHAN, HARRY AND WILLIAM SAYS ROYAL EXPERT

With rising speculation with who will and won’t attend Diana’s statue unveiling, Kate Middleton also may not accompany Prince William to the unveiling of a memorial statue of Princess Diana next month, according to a royal expert who has stated he and Prince Harry could “cut solo figures” during the occasion.

After the recent birth of Lilibet, royal fans might be wondering whether or not Meghan will fly to Britain in support of husband Harry.

As reported by Express.co.uk, Camilla has discussed her belief that neither of the princes’ families will be there, allowing them to spend time together as brothers.

“We’ve never really been told that family is going to be included in this thing, we know this is the reunion for the brothers on what would have been Diana’s 60th birthday on July 1,” Camilla supposedly revealed.

“Never any suggestions that the Cambridges would attend along with Prince William and equally, that Meghan and the children would attend with Harry.”

  • MEGHAN STAYS HOME WITH NEWBORN WHILST HARRY FLIES SOLO TO REUNITE WITH FAMILY

Meghan Markle will not return to UK as Prince Harry flies home to reunite with William to mark their mother's 60th birthday.

Harry and William will reunite to unveil a statue of Princess Diana at Kensington Palace on July 1.

The two brothers are expected to make separate speeches at the unveiling.

A source close to the Sussexes said: "Meghan is not going to travel. She has just had a baby and Harry will travel alone."

A plinth for Diana's statue has been laid in Kensington Palace's Sunken Garden, said to be Diana’s favourite spot in the grounds.
