McDonalds opens 500 more drive-thrus and 43 for delivery today

MCDONALD’S is reopening 497 more drive-thrus today, while 43 restaurants will also start offering delivery.

The fast food chain has been reopening its restaurant in phases, following the coronavirus lockdown.

McDonald’s yesterday reopened another 160 drive-thrus and 22 delivery restaurants in the UK, as well as eight drive-thrus in the Republic of Ireland.

Cars were seen waiting in three-hour long queues after Maccies finally reopened some branches in the north.

The latest reopenings come on top of the 44 restaurants McDonald's reopened last month.

The fast food chain plans on having all 924 drive-thru locations open for business by this Thursday, June 4.

The Sun will be updating this story once McDonald's announces the locations of its next reopened restaurants.

McDonald's has a temporarily slimmed down menu for its reopened restaurants, along with reduced opening hours of 11am to 10pm.

Sadly for McMuffin fans, the reduced hours means there are no breakfast options available.

The reduced hours are due to having less staff working in kitchens at one time.

What items are included on the reduced McDonald's menu?

MCDONALD'S is currently running a reduced menu.

Here's what's being sold:

Sides & Desserts:

Happy Meal Variants:

Currently, Maccies fans only have drive-thru and delivery options if they want their Big Mac fix, as dining areas remain closed to the public.

Delivery orders can be placed by Uber Eats - although you will have to pay a delivery fee on top of your order.

For drive-thrus, you can pre-order using the My McDonald's app - Maccies has previous said this will help speed up orders.

McDonald's is also asking customers to spend no more than £25 at both drive-thrus and when ordering for home delivery, to try and control high demand.

If you're ordering from Uber Eats, this £25 spend won't include your delivery fee.

McDonald's temporarily shut all 1,350 restaurants on March 23 just before the UK went into lockdown.

The fast food chain was swamped with orders when it reopened its first batch of restaurants last month.
