Mark Wright cashes in on ex-love rival Mario Falcone’s sister Giovanna Fletcher’s I’m A Celeb victory – but thinks twice

MARK Wright took to Twitter last night to boast that he predicted Giovanna Fletcher would win I'm A Celebrity - but deleted his post soon after sharing.

The ITV star, who appeared on the 2011 installment of the jungle series, took to social media to brag about his prediction prowess with a screenshot from a Whatsapp group called 'The Boys'.

In the text message sent last month, the former Towie star warned his pals that the sister of his former love rival Mario Falcone would nab the Castle Crown.

Alongside the screenshot, the TV presenter wrote: "So I'm A Celebrity launched Nov 15th. On that night at the start of the show, I told my mates the below...

"I guess the winner nearly every year. If you want easy money next year, come to me. At one point she was 20/1. I still knew!! Well done to the deserved winner Giovanna."

However, it soon appeared that Mark had second thoughts about his tweet and quickly deleted it - replacing it with a congratulatory post to third placed Vernon Kay.

The Heart DJ shared: "Well done Vernon mate. You absolutely smashed it !! Always knew you would.

"The nice guys always shine in this show as there is no where to hide. You were YOU from the start to finish. Look forward to having a pint soon".

Loyal fans of Towie will remember Mark was locked into a love triangle between Lucy Mecklenburgh and Giovanna's brother Mario.

In 2010, Lucy joined Towie as Mark's love interest in it's first season, however by the second series the brunette appeared to have moved on from him with Mario.

However, Lucy shared a kiss with Mark in Marbella just weeks into her relationship with Mario.

Although Mario forgave Lucy as they weren't official at the time, his world was later rocked when Mark confessed to spending the night with Lucy while the tailor was on holiday in Ibiza.

Initially Lucy denied the claims but eventually admitted that she cheated two months later and the pair split in 2011.

However, the pair rekindled their relationship months later and were even engaged before they parted ways in 2012.

Seven years on from the reality TV furore, Mario admitted in an interview last year that there was no hard feeling between him and Mark.

The reality TV star even went as far to say Mark had 'done him a favour' by revealing his night with then-girlfriend Lucy.

Mario has moved on from his experience and welcomed a son Parker Jax in November 2018 with fiancée Becky Miesner.

Meanwhile, Lucy gave birth to son Roman, who she welcomed with fiancé and former Corrie star Ryan Thomas.

Elsewhere, Mark married Michelle Keegan in 2015 and has enjoyed a presenting career on both sides of the Atlantic.
