Manchester United welcome Liverpool to Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.

United head into the fixture after beating Atalanta 3-2 in the Champions League in midweek, however, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side had to claw back a two-goal deficit to win that game.

The Reds have failed to win across their last three Premier League matches and an improved performance will be required today.

Marcus Rashford and Fred were forced off through injury against Atalanta but Solskjaer, speaking at his pre-match press conference on Friday, also revealed that Fernandes had also sustained a knock.

"We'll give everyone time. We might have the whole squad back fit, we might be two or three players down," Solskjaer said.

"Today we didn't have everyone [in training]. Let's see Sunday. Games like Wednesday night are always going to bring knocks and bruises and, yes, we do have two or three carrying knocks from that game. I'll give everyone time."

"Bruno [Fernandes] might be a doubt but he's doing everything he can to be ready."

Here's the United injury latest for Liverpool fixture

Manchester United will be eager to land a blow on their rivals, as well as return to form in the Premier League, when they welcome Liverpool today (Sunday, 4.30pm kick off).

United have not tasted victory over Liverpool in the league since March 2018, and take on Jurgen Klopp's side who are unbeaten domestically this term.

So, United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be hoping his side's 3-2 Champions League win over Atalanta in midweek will inspire a good performance against Liverpool.

The Norwegian had one or two injury concerns going into the game, though they have been allayed somewhat by the presence of Bruno Fernandes in the United squad that met up at their team hotel on Saturday evening. Marcus Rashford was also spotted with the group, though Fred - another injury doubt - was not.

United squad vs Liverpool includes Fernandes

Manchester United have been handed a huge injury boost for their Premier League showdown with Liverpool.

Having been rated as doubtful for the Old Trafford contest, Bruno Fernandes has teamed up with the United squad and was, subsequently, pictured on arrival at their pre-match Lowry Hotel base.

Marcus Rashford has also been captured on camera around the hotel; offering another fitness boost to his manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer ahead of Sunday's huge clash.

During a midweek comeback win over Atalanta, the England forward - who underwent shoulder surgery during the summer - had to be taken off with a dead leg.

United might have already hinted at their team for Liverpool

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed Bruno Fernandes and Fred are two of the players who could be sidelined today and the other is likely to be Marcus Rashford, forced off with a dead leg against Atalanta.

All three would have to start if fit and there might be some kidology going on. David de Gea was ruled out of Liverpool's visit two years ago and then checked in at The Lowry the evening before kick-off.

Jurgen Klopp is unlikely to fall for any of it but if United's injury issues are genuine and if the aforementioned trio are all unavailable then that would be damaging to United's chances.
