Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed Axel Tuanzebe is due to leave on loan with Raphael Varane on the verge of completing his transfer to Manchester United.
The Manchester Evening News reported last month Tuanzebe, 23, is preparing for a season-long loan and Solskjaer confirmed fellow centre-back Phil Jones is about to resume training.
Jones, 29, has been sidelined for over a year with a knee injury and has not played for United since January 2020. The defender has been with United for over a decade and is still contracted to the club until 2023.
Solskjaer sympathises with Jones, having been plagued with a knee problem towards the end of his career that caused him to miss the entirety of the 2004-05 season.
"I can see, with Raphael looking like everything is sorted there, I can see Axel going out," Solskjaer said. "Because I've got Raphael. Varane, Maguire, Lindelof, Eric Bailly and Phil Jones is due to start training over the weekend when we've got everyone in on Monday.
"Big plus for him. i've had similar troubles in my career and he's such a professional, good lad, hopefully Jonah can get training with us and game-time soon.
"If he can play 23s to start with, behind closed doors, I know exactly the feeling of being out for so long, he's always served the club well and it was time to look after him and his own health. Now he's ready to train with us."
