Man Utd ‘sign Real Madrid left-back Alvaro Carreras, 17, on free transfer after convincing him of future plans’

MANCHESTER UNITED have reportedly swooped to sign Real Madrid starlet Alvaro Fernandez Carreras.

The 17-year-old has “reached an agreement” to join the Red Devils on a free transfer.

And AS claim he will sign a four-year-contract at Old Trafford after his deal at the Bernabeu expired.

The left-back became a free agent on June 30 and he failed to agree an extension with Los Blancos.

He was part of the Juvenil C side in Madrid this campaign.

Carreras has impressed on his rise through the youth ranks since joining from Deportivo three years ago.

Madrid offered him improved terms to stay, but he decided to snub that in order to move abroad.

United then made “pressed” ahead with their move for his signature.

And he was blown away by their “sports project” and how “valued” they made him feel.

The teen is now eagerly looking ahead to his “adventure” in the Premier League.

And the report also states he has every confidence he will be able to “convince” everyone at United of his talents and make a first-team breakthrough.

Carreras is also believed to have offered the chance to train with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s senior squad if they have any problems at left-back.

However, he will initially go straight into their youth team upon his arrival in England.
