Manchester United fans believe that Tahith Chong should become a permanent left-back after his impressive cameo against LASK Linz.
United booked their place in the next round of the Europa League as they came from behind to beat Lask 2-1 on Wednesday night, 7-1 on aggregate.
The Austrian side did go ahead through a screamer from Phillipp Wiesinger but Jesse Lingard grabbed his second goal in as many games just two minutes later to erase the minuscule chance of a comeback.
Anthony Martial netted the winner towards the end of the game with a smart finish but what impressed supporters most about the otherwise drab match was the performance of Chong.
The Dutchman hadn't made a single appearance since the restart, despite extending his contract back in March, but came on at Old Trafford with 22 minutes remaining in the unfamiliar position of left-back.
Yet the natural winger put in a solid defensive performance as he made two tackles and blocked one cross, while also being an attacking threat down the left-flank.
United have struggled at left-back since Luke Shaw suffered an ankle injury which has ruled him out for the rest of the campaign, but fans think Chong may be the solution to the club's problems.
The victory has seen United advance to the quarter-finals where they will face FC Copenhagen, who defeated Istanbul Basaksehir 3-1 on aggregate to qualify.
However, the match won't be played over the usual two legs but instead in a one legged knock-out match in Cologne on Monday, August 10.
