A video shared from King's Cross Station shows water gushing onto the street outside the commuter hub.

Footage showed a man furiously cleaning the water with a broom to clear the drain.

Cars splashed at the man who tried in vain to fight the storm.

“Bro is sweeping the ocean,” commented one Twitter user.

Another addition: 'I can only assume it's the man with the broom keeping the sewers clear of leaves.

Elsewhere in London, heavy rains flooded London Victoria Station.

A video showed soggy commuters cautiously negotiating a large puddle – an unwaterproof gate being closed by a station attendant.
