Paramedics were unable to save a man found suffering from ‘stab wounds’ outside a train station in south-east London last night.
A murder investigation has been launched after he was discovered by Belvedere Railway Station on Saturday.
The victim, believed to be in his 40s, died at the scene shortly after 10.30pm.
His family is yet to be informed of the tragedy as police await formal identification.
No arrests have been made.
A spokesman for Metropolitan Police said: ‘At this early stage, it is thought that the man had been stabbed.
‘A post-mortem examination will be arranged in due course to establish the exact nature of his injuries.
‘A crime scene remains in place. There have been no arrests.’
