A man was stabbed to death in London this morning in the seventh fatal knife attack this week.

Police were called by paramedics at approximately 02:05hrs on Saturday to reports of a stabbing in Newham, east London.

The victim, believed to be aged 29, was pronounced dead by the London Ambulance Service at the scene on Hanameel Street at 02.44hrs.

His next of kin have been informed but formal identification has not taken place yet.

One man was arrested in connection with the incident and remains in custody.

An investigation has been launched and detectives from the Specialist Crime Command have been informed.

The incident makes 2019 the bloodiest year since 2008.



It comes after three men died within hours of each other in three separate attacks on Thursday.

Offiicers believe Ebrima ‘Brim’ Cham, 35, died after being attacked by three men at a property in Hounslow, west London.

The Metropolitan Police and London Ambulance Service were called to the address on Grove Road shortly after 11.30am, but Mr Cham died half an hour later.

A man, 44, arrested on suspicion of murder has been released with no further action.

Later that day, a man in his 20s was stabbed to death on Bromley Road, Walthamstow, north-east London and another suffered non-life threatening injuries.

A man, 29, was arrested on suspicion of murder.

Around an hour later, a man in his 30s lost his life after he was attacked near Scatchwood Park in Barnet, north London.

He was discovered in a car and was pronounced dead at the scene.

A second man was taken to hospital after sustaining stab wounds.
