AN OVER Kellet man will be running along Hadrian’s Wall on behalf of a breast cancer research charity.

Richard Halstead, 35, who is a sales manager for Konica Minolta, will be undertaking this great feat on behalf of the ‘Make 2nds Count’ charity who raise funds for research into breast cancer.

He became involved with the charity following a family friend’s diagnosis.

“It’s a small charity with the purpose of funding treatment for secondary breast cancer," he said.

“Their Ullswater way walk fundraiser last year raised more than £10,000.

“I’ve always been a keen runner and wanted to take on this new challenge.

“My plan is to run it as three marathons in three days, and a final easier day. I will try to complete it in four days.

“It was planned for July but is likely to be pushed back to late August or early September."

The great landmark runs for a total of eighty four miles (135 km), from Wallsend on the east coast of England to Bowness-on-Solway on the west coast.

Hadrian’s Wall, also called the Roman Wall, is a former defensive fortification of the Roman province of Britannia, in AD 122.
