A man has died after being found collapsed on a high street with a serious neck injury.

Police and paramedics were called to Anson Road in Crickelwood, northwest London, shortly before 7am on Friday.

The man, believed to be in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene around 45 minutes later.

Scotland Yard said detectives are keeping ‘an open mind concerning motive’ and there have been no arrests.

One witness in the area at 2pm that afternoon told the Evening Standard the road was still cordoned off and ‘many police’ remained on the scene.

He added that it appeared as though some of the shops nearby were also closed off.
