A man from Hull has denied a firearms offence an incident in Hessle Road.
Andrejs Saveljevs, 35, of Boulevard, west Hull, appeared at Hull Crown Court on Friday charged with a possession of a firearm or imitation firearm with intent to cause fear or violence.
Mr Saveljevs pleaded not guilty to the charge. A man who was shot by police during the incident was taken to hospital to be treated for injuries.
A four-day trial has been set for May 18.
Humberside Police officers were called to the scene near to Asda on December 15, 2019 after reports from local residents.
Officers attended the scene.
A large police cordon was put up with parts of Hessle Road blocked off as officers investigated the area.
Mr Saveljevs first appeared at Hull Magistrates Court on December 27 last year. He was remanded in custody.
A trial will take place on May 18 this year.
