City game first up as Premier League football makes its return
Top-flight football will resume on Wednesday, June 17 – starting with City v Arsenal and Sheffield United v Aston Villa.
That will be followed by the first full matchweek, where 10 games will be split across the weekend, with games on Friday and Monday night, along with four each on Saturday and Sunday.
All matches will be televised live in the UK and, as a result, will have staggered fixture times to ensure there are no clashes.
Evening matches on Friday and Monday will be set at 20:00, with Saturday’s four matches set at 12:30, 15:00, 17:30 and 20:00.
Some midweek matches will be required to complete the remaining matches and they will be spread to Tuesdays, Wednesday and Thursday evenings, with kick-off times at 18:00 and 20:00.
Leverkusen star could replace Sane at City - opinion
Manchester City see Bayer Leverkusen’s Leon Bailey as the perfect replacement for Leroy Sane, according to the Daily Mail.
Fellow winger Sane has been heavily linked with a move to Bayern Munich.
And MEN Sport’s Alex Keble believes the 22-year-old star, with some tutoring, can fill Sane’s tactical role in the final third.
Jamaica international Bailey prefers to play on the right wing, but is more regularly deployed on the left.
Defender rejects City transfer for Italy move - report
Greek defender Georgios Vagiannidis has reportedly turned down a move to Manchester City to sign for Inter Milan.
According to Italian publication PassioneInter.com, the Panathinaikos centre-back has rejected interest from the Blues, as well as the likes of Monaco and PAOK Salonika, to ink a three-year deal with the Serie A Club, instead.
