An accused sex attacker raped a 13-year-old girl near Hampton Court Palace after meeting her in a shop, a court heard.
Afghan national Feroz Khan, 24, is said to have attacked the young teenager near the 16th Century royal residence.
The alleged crime is said to have taken place in southwest London on 17 June 2015.
Khan appeared in the dock today dressed in a suit and spoke only to confirm his details.
Khan, of central London, is charged with one count of raping a girl aged 13.
Magistrate Laura Boyle released Khan on unconditional bail.
He will later return for a plea and trial preparation hearing at Kingston Crown Court on 12 August.
