A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of arson and creating a fire at an East Lancashire landmark.
Colne and Nelson Police posted on their social media page about the incident at Langroyd Hall last night.
It said: "Residents of Colne, you may have seen emergency services activity in and around Langroyd Hall, Colne this evening, and social media posts suggesting the hall had been set alight.
"We can confirm that there was a small fire at the rear of the site in a outbuilding, the hall itself has not been affected and remains intact. The fire was extinguished by our colleagues from Lancashire Fire and Rescue.
"With regards to the fire itself, we believe that it is suspicious and as such your Local Policing Team have arrested a male on suspicion of arson. The male is now in custody awaiting interview regarding the incident."
