A man accidentally won a $2 million lottery jackpot on a scratch-off ticket he was given by mistake.

The Michigan Lottery announced that the unnamed 57-year-old man won the prize on a ticket he was given at a BP gas station at 19440 East 10 Mile Road in Eastpointe where he stopped to fill one of his tires with air.

According to the Lottery, the man asked for a $10 Lucky 7’s scratch-off ticket, but the clerk accidentally gave him the wrong one.

‘The clerk handed me the $20 ticket by mistake. He offered to exchange it for me but something told me to keep it,’ the man said in a statement released by the lottery on Tuesday.

‘I am sure glad I did!’ he continued.

The Lottery has not identified the lucky winner and said he decided to take the lump sum of approximately $1.3 million instead of $2 million spread over a span of many years.
