A man has been charged with murder after a man was stabbed to death in Trafford.

The incident happened at around 9.40pm on Friday night when police were called to reports of a stabbing at an address on Davyhulme Road in Stretford.

A 50-year-old man was taken to hospital with a stab wound to the chest.

Despite the best efforts of medics he was sadly pronounced dead a short while later.

He has been named by Greater Manchester Police as Emile Anderson.

Detectives launched an investigation and say inquiries have established Emile was stabbed following an 'altercation' in the home.

Gilvy Anderson, 58, was arrested and has has now been charged with murder.

He has been remanded in custody to appear before Manchester Magistrates Court on Monday, 19 April.
