A 48-year-old man found dead in a flat has been named by police as a 23-year-old is charged with murder.
Mark Wolsey was found seriously injured in a flat in Harrogate, Yorkshire, after officers were called just after 10pm on Friday.
Officers allegedly found the murder suspect in the road outside the property where the victim was seriously injured, Yorkshire Live reports.
Ambulance staff attended but Mr Wolsey, from Harrogate, was pronounced dead at the scene.
His family are being supported by specially trained officers with North Yorkshire Police.
A 23-year-old man, also from Harrogate, has been charged with murder and will appear at York Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
Neighbours said the property is a house of multiple occupations (HMO).
A man in his late 30s, who lives further down the street, said it was usually a quiet street.
"We’re curious, but we don’t have a clue what happened.
"We had police here before but since I’ve been living here for the last couple of weeks or months it’s the first time the street has been closed."
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police yesterday reassured residents that it was a “contained incident” and the public was not at risk.
