Man, 23, sexually assaulted two women as they slept

A man who sexually assaulted two women on separate occasions while they slept has today been jailed.

Alex Slocombe, from Warrington, appeared at Liverpool Crown Court today, where he was sentenced to six years in prison after pleading guilty to three counts of assault by penetration.

The 23-year-old of Duxford Court, Poulton-with-Fearnhead, sexually assaulted two women on separate occasions in 2017 and 2020.

DC Joe Davies said Slocombe's actions have had a "profound and long lasting impact" on both victims, who have struggled to come to terms with what happened.

Slocombe was also handed an indefinite restraining order today and required to sign the sex offenders register for life.

DC Joe Davies said: “This conviction sends a clear message about consent and the associated consequences.

“The offender’s actions had a profound and long lasting impact on both victims. They have both struggled to come to terms with what happened to them and are still very much affected by what Slocombe did.

“Hopefully the result today can go some way to helping the victims feel a sense of justice and I hope they can start to move forward with their lives in the near future.
