A teenager has been charged with murder following the death of a girl at a holiday park in North Wales.

Matthew Selby, 19, will appear in front of magistrates on Tuesday, police said.

Emergency services rushed to Ty Mawr Holiday Park in Towyn on Saturday after reports of an incident.

A girl, 15, was tragically found dead at the scene and an arrest was made.

Details of the circumstances surrounding the death are yet to be revealed.

North Wales Police said on Monday: "Following an incident at Ty Mawr Holiday Park, Towyn on Saturday afternoon, 19-year-old Matthew Selby from the Greater Manchester area has this afternoon been charged with murder.

"He has been remanded in custody and will appear before magistrates tomorrow.

"We would ask the public not to speculate about this incident on social media as this is an active investigation."

A park spokesperson said previously: "We are shocked and saddened by this tragic incident.

"Ty Mawr is a 100 acre family park which welcomes tens of thousands of happy holidays makers every year."
