A major road in South Derbyshire is set to be closed for nearly two weeks to allow for work to be carried out.
Derby Road, in Hatton, will be closed between its junctions with Hoon Lane and the A511 Station Road from Monday, March 29, to Friday, April 9, by Derbyshire County Council.
It is being closed to allow for a new drainage system to be installed in the area and the surfacing of a new roundabout, a spokesman for the council has said.
An alternative route will be put in place by the county council along the A511 Uttoxeter Road, A50 Trunk Road, A5132 Derby Road and The Mease and vice versa for those heading the other way.
A spokesman for the council said: "Access will be maintained, whenever reasonably possible, on the affected length of road. The road will re-open as soon as the work is finished.
"This may be earlier than advertised. Derbyshire County Council apologises for any inconvenience caused while work takes place. Anyone needing further information should ring Call Derbyshire on 01629 533190."
