A global logistics firm is preparing to move onto a Staffordshire industrial estate after taking over three new warehouses.

Freight Management European has signed a five-year lease on the new buildings at Marchington Industrial Estate, on Stubby Lane, near Uttoxeter.

The firm will move into two 5,000sq ft buildings that have been converted into a new 10,000sq ft facility and a single warehouse unit of 7,000sq ft.

The company offers logistics and warehouse services on a worldwide basis across a huge range of industrial and commercial sectors including aerospace, engineering, automotive, retail, defence, construction and consumer goods.

It has said it plans to use the new units for long-term storage as part of existing contracts and is due to take immediate occupation following completion of works.

Richard Walker, of Hortons' Estate Ltd, which acquired Marchington Industrial Estate in 2013, said: "We were confident that these new speculative units would let well given the strength of the market, lack of supply in the region and popularity of Marchington Industrial Estate.

"The estate continues to perform strongly in line with our active asset management strategy and we look forward to working with Freight Management European and supporting the company’s future growth."
