Love Island fans were left seriously turned off by a gross drinking challenge, which involved Islanders passing cocktails to each other from mouth to mouth.
The task acted as an ice breaker on the first day of the always dramatic Casa Amor twist, which saw six new girls go into the second villa to greet the boys, while six new boys headed into the main villa to keep the female Islanders company.
The Islanders were tasked with passing the ingredients of four different cocktails between their mouths, racing to fill up their glasses the quickest.
With a cocktail party up for grabs, the Islanders quickly got to know each other, but they, and plenty of viewers watching at home were disgusted. Islander Paige Turley quipped "Hi my name's Paige...let me spit in your mouth," but fans of the show failed to see the funny side and questioned how such unhygienic challenges were allowed.
One ranted "Why are the producers obsessed with challenges where they transfer food from mouth to mouth???? What sicko thinks of this as their challenges?? #loveisland." and another tweeted "Love Island need a health and safety investigation. The spiting in peoples mouth challenge is DISGUSTING."
Echoing those sentiments, another posted "Can we stop these challenges? So unhygienic and disgusting," and another reacted "what is it with these exchanging saliva challenges?? "
Love Island's first night of Casa Amor showed Callum's head on the verge of being turned by new girl Molly Smith, despite him being coupled up with Shaughna pretty much from day one.
And new boy Josh made a bee-line for Shaughna saying "I’m going to lay my cards on the table here, but I think you’re super gorgeous.
"Your personality is awesome. I think you’re great. I feel like you and me would get along. If you’re pretty safe with Callum, I can’t rock that. But I feel like I can give you a bit more than Callum can give.”
