Love Island’s Priya reveals she went on a secret date with co-star who she brutally rejected on the show

COFFEE DATE

LOVE Island star Priya Gopaldas has revealed she went for a 'date' with Brett Staniland back in the UK.

The pair had a very rocky romance on the show after she branded him "boring" and criticised his favourite cheese.

So many were surprised to find out they met up again after the show for what she called a "coffee date".

But, speaking to Towie's Bobby Norris in New magazine, she explained there was "absolutely not" any chance of further romance.

Opening up about their date she told him: "Yes it was a little coffee date.

"A mate date! We are still friends and we're chatting to each other. I'm really glad we're still in each other's lives after Love Island, as I feel like we got on really well."

They didn't appear to get on well on Love Island, despite being coupled up, with her saying he was "sucking the fun out of me".

He soon found out about his remarks and confronted her in the one of the most awkward moments of the 2021 series.

The medical student and NHS frontline worker told her co-stars: "I just feel like his energy is like below mine.

"It's quite draining, sucking the fun out of me. Just small things, like his favourite cheese.

"I'm sure he said something like really boring, I don't know, like brie. I want someone to be like: 'I'll try all different kinds of cheese, the smellier the better!' That kind of thing.

""I feel like he's the kind of person who just sticks in his comfort zone."

He later told her: "No... I don't like brie, I hate brie. I don't really like cheese."

A shocked Priya replied: "Even worse, even worse, you know! I like a cheese board and wine."

Brett left ‘unimpressed’ as he learns Priya called him ‘boring’ and hated their date tonight
