Love Island aired chaos in recent episodes as the Casa Amor recoupling led to heartache in the main villa.

But the biggest shock for the Islanders came when Liam Reardon returned to the main villa alone, wanting to stay paired up with Millie Court.

Millie was beaming, having also chosen to stay in her current pairing, unaware of what had been unfolding in the second villa.

That all soon came to light though when Lillie Haynes walked in, and confirmed she and Liam had a "connection" and that they had been getting cosy.

Millie was left in tears, even more so when she met up with Lillie the next day and was told about them kissing and the rest.

She now doesn't believe she can move forward with her partner of the past few weeks, and has called time on their romance.

But things could have been very different if Liam's head had not been turned, and if Lillie wan't sold on Liam alone.

As the boys headed to Casa Amor last week, they met six new girls including Lillie.

Lillie had actually set her sights on another man though, who was well and truly taken.

The girls who entered the second villa had been able to watch the past episodes before joining in the fun - meaning they knew who everyone was and what their situations were.

Before going into Casa Amor, Lillie has now revealed she really liked Jake Cornish - who recently became official with girlfriend Liberty Poole.

Had she acted on her initial attraction, with the Casa Amor girls stopping at nothing to get the man they wanted, it could have been Liberty crying over the fire pit.

While Jake did not actually betray Liberty in the second villa, perhaps if Lillie had tried to get to know him instead of Liam then his head may have been turned.

We would have had a very different Casa Amor recoupling if this had happened, and maybe Liam wouldn't have broken Millie's heart... for the time being anyway.

Speaking to Laura Whitmore on After Sun, she said of whether she initially wanted Liam: "I didn't, no, I initially really liked Jake and I always said that Liam was a dark horse.

"I never really saw his personality come across on the show but obviously as soon as I got in there my opinion changed very quick."

It could have been another girl turning Liam's head if Lillie wasn't interested though, and we do wonder how things would have panned out had the new girl gone for Jake instead.

Meanwhile, viewers believe Jake is just as bad as the other guys after he appeared to encourage them to 'cheat' on their partners.

Viewers are desperate to see his behaviour exposed to the girls and Liberty, with many speculating he was sabotaging the couples.

Love Island airs every night at 9pm on ITV2 and ITV Hub.
