BELLE Hassan grilled Anton Danyluk about whether he cheated on her as their relationship fell apart.
The 21-year-old says she needed to know the truth as she insists he "forgot about her" when he became obsessed with fame after Love Island.
But kind-hearted Belle insists she has no bad feelings towards the Scot - and believes he was always faithful to her.
She spoke exclusively to The Sun Online at her co-star Maura Higgins' boohoo launch last night revealing the former couple are getting on "better than ever".
Opening up for the first time about the split, Belle admitted she worried that Anton had been with other women while they were dating outside the villa.
She said: "To be honest, I wouldn't have a bloody clue. How would you know? Who is going to be the bearer of bad news and break up a cute couple?
"If there was cheating, I'd hope that he would tell me. Obviously I asked the question.
"I've said to him, if you've cheated 'just be honest with me, we can still be friends if you're honest'.
"We had a really honest relationship. I always said I wanted to hear it from him first. But I trust him when he says he didn't."
The Love Island couple called it a day five weeks after leaving the villa after Belle grew tired of the Scot’s wild partying in Ibiza.
Despite giving it their best shot at a long-distance relationship, Belle says they could go up to three days without speaking as their hectic schedules pushed them to breaking point.
But since splitting, the pair are now speaking on the phone every day.
"We probably speak more than we ever did.
"I think it's because there's no pressure. We can just get on how we did before.
"We're friends and talk every day, he'll ring me up to see how I'm doing.
"He just got caught up with everything, like fame and going out. He wanted to party, party, party and I think he just forgot about me a little bit. That's fine, I understand that.
"It's hard because he's going to all these clubs where girls are screaming 'I love you' at him.
"It's going to give you an ego-boost and make you think you're the man.
"It must be overwhelming. We don't want to put pressure on each other so we said let's put a hold on it and see how things go."
Insisting it's far from a bitter break-up, Belle admits there are still feelings there between the pair.
"I have so much love and respect for Anton," she says.
"He's helped change my life and we've gone through so much together.
"Maybe when our schedules die down there will be something there. You never know. Everything's such a whirlwind.
"We said let's wait and see what happens in a couple of months.
"I will never say never, because when people do and then they get back with them they always look like a **ob."
"I wish him nothing but happiness."
Belle celebrated Maura becoming a boohoo ambassador at an event in Nobu, Shoreditch, last night.
She was joined by fellow Love Islanders Chris Taylor, Francesca Allen, India Reynolds, Joe Garratt, Lucie Donlan, Anna Vakili - and of course Maura's love interest Curtis.
