Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool took the transfer market by storm last week.

The narrative for much of this summer was that Liverpool were set for a quiet window, ensuring consolidation within the current squad more than anything else.

However, the signings of Thiago Alcantara and Diogo Jota saw the Reds considerably strengthen their options in key areas of the pitch.

Thiago will add top-class attributes to the midfield and Jota’s long-term development makes him a perfect back-up to the front three.

While those signings have pleased Liverpool supporters, a number of other transfer rumours mean the Reds may not be done just yet.

Liverpool have been linked with moves for top players around Europe and here is the latest transfer news from Anfield.

Wijnaldum rejects contract offer

Georginio Wijnaldum has rejected a fresh contract offer from Liverpool and could leave the club next summer for nothing.

According to Football Insider, the Dutch midfielder will remain at Anfield this season despite turning down a new long-term deal with the Reds.

The report adds Wijnaldum has rejected at least one offer from Liverpool’s hierarchy after months of negotiations with his representatives.

Wijnaldum’s Liverpool future has been put into major doubt due to Thiago Alcantara’s arrival from Bayern Munich and detailed interest from Barcelona.

Klopp interested in Dembele loan

Liverpool are reportedly keen on signing Barcelona and France winger Ousmane Demeble

Liverpool are interested in Barcelona forward Ousmane Dembele.

Reports in France, cited here, claim Klopp remains keen on the France international who has failed to fulfill his potential at the Camp Nou since arriving from Borussia Dortmund in 2018.

The report claims Liverpool have a willingness to take Dembele on loan rather than looking to sign him on a permanent deal.

While Sarr looks set to arrive from Watford, the arrival of Dembele would provide Klopp with a whole host of attacking options.
