This week local lockdown restrictions came into place across Merseyside which have once again changed the way we are able to visit pubs and restaurants.

The new rules state that hospitality businesses must now close at 10pm, with food and drink restricted to table service only, and a requirement to use face masks when moving around the venue.

The challenge of managing Covid-19 safety measures can seem daunting to some businesses, but now Foursquare Group, which is a leading North West-based health and safety specialist, has been helping some of Liverpool’s independent bars, restaurants and shops to ensure they are operating safely.

Foursquare Group has created an industry leading Covid-Safe scheme, which provides all of the tools needed for businesses to put in place the necessary measures to help keep customers safe.

Businesses in Liverpool which have undergone Foursquare Group’s robust scheme and have been audited to confirm they’re Covid-Safe include The Art School, Bacaro, Duke Street Food and Drink Market, Carlisi, Bold Street Coffee, Ropes & Twines, and more.

You can see all the businesses included on the register here. The list shows all the businesses in Liverpool that are on the register and when they were last audited.

Liam Jones, Founder of Foursquare, said: “All of the businesses listed on our register have gone the extra mile by implementing a considered Covid-19 management strategy. Each time a Covid-Safe business passes one of our audits, the date is updated on our register to display their commitment to customer safety.”

To encourage independent businesses to join the scheme, Foursquare Group has developed a ‘Pay What You Can’ pricing model which is the first of its kind in the UK. It means all businesses have access to the scheme regardless of their current financial position.

Liam said: “We are continuing to build the Covid-Safe register to help businesses protect their customers and to help customers make smart decisions on where to spend their time. No business will be turned away - they can quite simply pay what is affordable to them to receive our help and guidance in implementing the strict government guidelines to limit the spread of the virus.

“We urge all independent businesses in the Liverpool City Region to make contact with us and become a part of the Covid-Safe scheme. We’d also urge the wider public to carefully consider where they eat, drink and shop and only use Covid-Safe businesses.”
