Van Dijk to be offered new deal

Liverpool are to make Virgil van Dijk the world’s best paid defender with a bumper new deal for the Dutchman this summer according to reports.

The Daily Mirror claim the Dutchman will be the latest leading Reds star to be rewarded for his performances on the pitch after the likes of Mohamed Salah , Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino who all penned lucrative new contracts last year.

The report also claims Harvey Elliott and Curtis Jones are set for new deals too with Liverpool boasting added financial muscle following the release of their accounts yesterday confirmed record-breaking success off the pitch.

Mignolet turn

Simon Mignolet shipped five goals as Brugge got battered by Manchester United last night.

He still enjoyed these moments of magic though...

The Naby Keita dilemma

What to do about Naby Keita?

There remains quite the debate on the Liverpool midfielder.

Statistically, he’s one of the Reds’ best performers but watch him with you eyes and he appears to be offering next to nothing.

The truth is probably somewhere in between.

Injuries of course haven’t helped and he now finds himself in ‘The Daniel Sturridge position’.

At least that’s how the guys described it on the latest episode of ‘Analysing Anfield’.

Seven players trying to convince Klopp they remain in his plans

Jurgen Klopp has assembled a group of superstars at Liverpool with a team just about as close to perfection as you can get.

There is barely a chink in the armour of every and any starting XI the German boss puts out which has in itself made for a side capable of repeatedly claiming every major trophy available to them in world football.

And not only is the world-class level at Anfield limited to the pitch because off it, around Melwood and in the dressing room, there is an incredible attitude, mentality and atmosphere regularly hailed as the finest around.

It would, therefore, make sense that hardly any players in the squad are hoping to head for the exit door this summer when the transfer window opens.
