Liverpool news and transfers LIVE - Thiago 'talks'

Assist Kings

Andy Robertson has congratulated his full-back partner in crime Trent Alexander-Arnold who was named the Premier League's Young Player of the Season for last season's remarkable campaign.

He wrote to Twitter: "What a player, what a guy! Well deserved"

These two are not only the best of mates and the world's best full-backs but keep pushing each other to be better.

It is great to see!

Adrian's Medals

Well, this is the content we all came here for.

I am absolutely adore this completely over the top video from Adrian.

He's booked out a whole stadium to show off his Liverpool winners' medals in a blockbuster movie trailer kind of way.

So extra. Tan extra.

Unbelievably good at football

Mad to think Trent Alexander-Arnold is just 21 as well.

The world's best right-back is going to keep on dominating for Liverpool.

A credit to the city

I think we can all agree on this!

Although, it is the Premier League award he has snapped up!

Can't see past him for the PFA accolade though, can you?

Remember as well this is just the beginning..

Arsenal sign Willian

Arsenal have completed the signing of free agent Willian.

The former Chelsea man played his last game for the London Blues against his new club in the FA Cup final last month.

What a great signing this is for the Gunners, still think the Brazilian is an outstanding footballer and will do lots of good things next season.

He of course scored the all-important goal against Manchester City which saw Liverpool handed the Premier League title.

Trent Alexander-Arnold wins Young Player of the Season award

Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold has been named the Premier League's Young Player of the Season after a remarkable 2019/20 campaign.

Well in and well deserved, Trent!

What a journey

Peter Gulacsi has been on quite the footballing journey hasn't he!

I love to see stories like this, of perseverance and mental fortitude.

The goalkeeper has to be commended for going from the bottom of League One to within two wins from legendary status.

Good luck to him.

Yasser Larouci latest

Reports are suggesting Leeds United are unwilling to pay the reported £2m asking price for Reds youngster Yasser Larouci.

The left-back looks set to depart the club this summer in search of game time - with the newly-promoted Yorkshire outfit one of the interested parties in a potential deal.

But a report cited by The Boot Room has said Leeds think the current asking price is an overestimation of what Larouci is worth having featured predominantly for the Academy.

It does seem likely the Algerian will depart following the arrival of Kostas Tsimikas earlier this week.

Brentford were also interested in the 19-year-old but I guess we will have to wait and see what happens.

What's next?

Liverpool have, as you would expect, been linked with a whole host of players.

The Reds landed left-back Kostas Tsimikas earlier this week.

But what is next in the transfer market?

Our Blood Red team bring you this.

Thiago talks claim

Fabrizio Romano has said Liverpool are in contact with Bayern Munich over a Thiago Alcantara deal.

The journalist has claimed the Reds are in communication with the Bundesliga champions who are said to be looking for around €30m for the midfielder.

Not to rain on any parade here but as reported by the ECHO last night and in recent weeks, our current understanding is that Thiago is not an active target at this time.

Viva Super Cup glory

I weirdly had a dream about the Super Cup last night.

No idea why.

Then I saw it was one year ago?!

I was so happy Liverpool won this. I actually found out they'd won when I landed in Las Vegas.

I cheered loudly when I googled the score and saw a win on penalties! People on the plane looked at me like 'well she's excited to be in Vegas'.

I was. I really was.

Liverpool stance on Thiago

Liverpool have not opened talks over a transfer for Thiago Alcantara, despite Bayern Munich’s efforts to drum up interest in the midfielder.

Reports in Germany have suggested the Reds have made contact with the Bundesliga champions over a move for the Spain international, who has been heavily linked with a move to Anfield this summer.

Bayern are said to have dropped their valuation for the 29-year-old down to around £27million, with Liverpool having been reported as willing to pay just over £22million.

But the Echo understands the club have not opened talks with Bayern, and the Reds have not moved on their stance that Thiago is not an active target.

Good morning and welcome to Friday’s LIVE Liverpool blog.

Let’s get to it!

Ben White told

Brighton defender Ben White has been urged to join Liverpool over Leeds.

The centre-half's former coach Michael Flynn has said White should be looking to sign for the Premier League champions after being linked with a move to both clubs.

“I’d love to see him at Liverpool. I know Pep Lijnders, the assistant, he’s an unbelievable coach," he told TalkSport2 as cited here.

“So I know he will help Ben improve. He’s got to do what’s best for Ben White. That could be getting a season in the Premier League with regular games at Brighton, which I think he could do.

“Graham Potter might want to keep him and bring him on and then sell him for more money after a year in the Premier League.

“That’s a decision for Ben, but for biased reasons, I’d be edging him towards Liverpool."
