Why Liverpool's greatest night led to dancing in the White House

In these challenging times of social distancing, a quirky tale for you here from Dan Kay about how Liverpool's 2005 Champions League final - the game that Reds fans refer to as 'The Miracle of Istanbul' inspired a night of dancing in the White House.

It includes the lines:

"I was determined to make an extra effort to make the visits by Condoleezza Rice ones to remember.

"The humourous side of the Secretary burst out as she did a little dance, declaring herself a fan of both Liverpool, and also the Beatles."

Klopp 'met with Edwards' to bring Coutinho back

Another report in the Mirror claims Jurgen Klopp held a meeting with Liverpool sporting director Michael Edwards to discuss the possibility of bringing Philippe Coutinho back to Anfield.

And it is also claimed that Spurs were the second Premier League side keen on signing the Brazilian.

In the case of Liverpool, though, the stumbling block was apparently quite significant...

Barcelona wanted a staggering £8million loan fee to make the deal happen. The club also expected the Reds to pay Coutinho’s £250,000-a-week wages in full.

Premier League to 'resume in July'
