Sturridge trains with non-league side
Daniel Sturridge is training at Kidsgrove Athletic as he continues his search for a new club report the Stoke Sentinel.
The former Liverpool man is a free agent after serving a four-month worldwide ban for breaching betting rules, having left Trabzonspor back in March.
And Kidsgrove chairman Mick Fitzjohn has revealed all about the arrangement.
“Yes, he’s signed a 12-month contract (laughs). No, he’s coming down to keep himself fit and he’s working hard while he finds a new club.
“He comes down most days and he can let himself in. He lives locally and we don’t mind that. It’s a nice set up.
“I’ve been down there painting but we haven’t chucked him a brush just yet to help out.”

And we're back!

In the meantime, a big update on Rhian Brewster's future courtesy of Yorkshire Live.
They claim Sheffield United have been told they can have Rhian Brewster, but the Blades are understood to be stalling.
United have submitted an offer for a season-long loan, however, Liverpool are not keen on that and, instead, have instructed the Bramall Lane hierarchy to make a permanent bid.
Liverpool want £18m for the striker and are even happy to receive a token gesture fee up front and allow the money to be paid over a length of time and structured in a way that suits United.
But despite Chris Wilder urging his board to get a deal done, Sheffield United have not taken them up on this offer with Liverpool growing frustrated at the lack of progress being made since talks began last month.

Liverpool will face Arsenal twice in less than a week after beating Lincoln City last night.
The two sides clash in the Premier League on Monday, then will meet again in the Carabao Cup on Thursday.
Rhian Brewster future latest
Rhian Brewster is reportedly edging closer to a Liverpool exit after he was left out of the Reds’ matchday squad for the Carabao Cup trip to Lincoln City.
The Independent claim Sheffield United still heading the queue to sign him with Blades boss Chris Wilder and Jurgen Klopp holding another discussion about the young forward on Wednesday.
Klopp offers Gomez injury update and drops Fabinho hint
Jurgen Klopp has hinted Fabinho could become more than an emergency centre-back and offered an injury update.
In the England international's absence, the Brazilian shone at the heart of defence against Chelsea before coming on in the same position against Lincoln City.
And Klopp has hinted even when Gomez returns, Fabinho could still line up as a centre-back.
"We have to make sure we have centre halves when we play football and Fabinho can obviously play the position very well, he’s fit and that’s good, so he gets minutes, that’s good for him.
"Joe [Gomez] should be back in training tomorrow [Friday], I hope so and the situation could look slightly different. But he is doing really well, if he plays like he played against Chelsea he can play as a centre half, 100%.
"If somebody else plays as a 6, he has another position."
Fresh interest in Sarr
Crystal Palace and West Bromwich Albion have reportedly both joined the race to sign Ismaila Sarr from Watford.
The winger looks set to leave the Hornets following their relegation and Wiwsport credits the duo as entering the race for his signature along with Aston Villa.
They also claim Liverpool had previously opened talks with Watford, however, the Reds are unlikely to make a move after signing Diogo Jota.
Messi's message to Suarez
Lionel Messi has hit out at Barcelona for their treatment of Luis Suarez in his farewell message to the Uruguayan.
He writes on Instagram:
"I was already getting the idea but today I entered the locker room and the card really fell. How difficult it is going to be not to continue sharing the day to day with you, both on the courts and outside. We will miss them so much. It was many years, many mates, lunches, dinners ... Many things that will never be forgotten, every day together.
"It will be strange to see you with another shirt and much more to face you. You deserved to be fired for what you are: one of the most important players in the club's history, achieving important things both as a group and individually. And not to get kicked out like they did. But the truth is that at this point nothing surprises me.
"I wish you all the best in this new challenge. I love you very much, I love you very much. See you soon friend. "
Dembele 'rejected' Liverpool move
Jurgen Klopp was reportedly convinced that Liverpool would sign Ousmane Dembele this summer, only for the Barcelona star to reject a move to the Premier League.
According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, cited by the Mirror, the Reds were keen to sign the Frenchman on loan with an option to buy.
However, the forward told both Liverpool and Manchester United he has no intention of leaving Camp Nou this summer.
Glatzel and Hardy injury update
Barry Lewtas has provided an injury update on Paul Glatzel and Joe Hardy.
After missing last season with an ACL injury, Glatzel returned for pre-season but is currently sidelined with a minor problem.
Meanwhile, Hardy missed pre-season but is now back in training.
And Lewtas offered an update to Liverpoolfc.com about their progress.
"Paul had a long-term injury. It is a bit more frustrating for him that he got through pre-season, scored goals and played a lot of games but he's just picked up a little injury which will keep him out for a short time, but it's nothing long-term.
"It's more of a frustrating one for him really but he will be back soon.
"Joe has been out and missed pre-season but he started training with the group yesterday.
"He had a big smile on his face and it's great to have him back.
"Obviously with the break we had due to COVID-19 it adds time on as well, so we've got to be a bit careful with some of the boys. We have to do the right thing and look after them because it's going to be a long season."
Thiago Alcantara was quick to congratulate his new team-mates for beating Lincoln City last night.

Coutinho message to Suarez
Former Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho has also sent a message to Luis Suarez on Instagram following his now former Barcelona colleague's exit from the club.

Suarez farewell message
So after six seasons, Luis Suarez is no longer a Barcelona legend.
The former Liverpool star held a farewell press conference yesterday ahead of his move to Atletico Madrid.
And he's posted a couple of farewell messages on social media...
That second one translates to...
"Special day with feelings of sadness for leaving a place that gave me a lot as a player and as a person, from now on a new challenge begins that I will live with the same enthusiasm that I experienced since I arrived here. Thank you all very much and you will always be in me."
Mane handed Coutinho warning from Barnes
John Barnes has advised Sadio Mane to stay put at Liverpool and not follow in Philippe Coutinho's footsteps.
Real Madrid are reportedly interested in the Reds forward, but the club legend used the Brazilian as an example when insisting the grass isn't always greener.
“Philippe Coutinho was going to be the greatest, but then he left after five years.
“The only way players will be regarded as the one of the best Liverpool players, is if they stay at the club for a long period of time.
“I hope Sadio Mane does that, he’s been terrific since his transfer from Southampton in 2016.”
“If Fernando Torres or Luis Suarez were at Liverpool for 10 years, they would both have been in the Liverpool all-time XI.
“If Sadie Mane is going to stay for a prolonged period of time performing at a high level, then of course he can get into the all-time Liverpool XI.
“He is a phenomenally good player with outstanding ability and could definitely project himself into legendary status at Anfield if he keeps it consistent with the high-class performances.”
