Liverpool stars sign up for Players Together

Premier league players from around the country have united to support the fight against coronavirus. Many Liverpool stars have signed up to the initiative, which is known as #PlayersTogether.

It has partnered with NHS Charities Together (NHSCT) to ‘help those fighting for us on the NHS frontline’. A statement explaining the initiative was released last night, and was retweeted by many Liverpool players.

Jordan Henderson, James Milner, Andy Robertson and Fabinho were among those sharing the news on social media.

"It is about we, as players, collaborating together to create a voluntary initiative, separate to any other league and club conversation," the statement read. "To try and help, along with so many others in the country, to make a real difference."

Reds to sign another Torres?

After a relatively quiet summer in the transfer market in 2019, Liverpool are widely expected to make more moves when the next window opens.

One name being linked is 20-year old Valencia winger Ferran Torres. Despite his tender age, Liverpool have reportedly been monitoring his progress for over two years.

Spanish football analyst Domagoj Kostanjšak spoke to Blood Red for a summer transfer window podcast special, and explained why he thought the move could work.

"He's a highly technical winger with pace and he dribbles well," he said. "He likes to run and he beats his marker easily most of the time.

"He's good with both feet and that makes him deadly: he can go inside and shoot or outside and put crosses into the box.

"He's pretty much the whole package except for his finishing, which still needs a bit of work.

"But he's really young, so I would say the sky is the limit."

Kostanjšak went on to compare Torres to Jadon Sancho, and it seems the Spaniard could provide a cheaper alternative if Liverpool don’t wish to compete in the inevitable big money tussle for the Borussia Dortmund star.

Inter have their eyes on Wijnaldum

Italian news outlet TuttoMercatoWeb are reporting that Inter are keen to sign Gini Wijnaldum.

Liverpool’s number five is one of several midfielders who has caught the eye of Inter’s management team.

With his contract due to expire at the end of next season, Wijnaldum may prove to be a cheaper option than some of their other transfer targets, which reportedly include Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

The news report claims the Dutchman could be available for €30million, though Liverpool are unlikely to let him go without a fight.
