Boris Johnson is to hold a coronavirus briefing live from Downing Street this afternoon.
There is speculation the PM may cover overseas travel during the briefing.
Yesterday, England's Health Secretary Matt Hancock made Covid announcements in the House of Commons - including putting India on the travel red list.
Overseas travel may resume in England after May 17, but the government is yet to confirm this, as ministers are unsure whether it will be safe to travel by this date.
Mr Johnson is expected to soon reveal the results of a study into whether foreign travel will be allowed from England this summer.
The PM is also likely to discuss the vaccination project and fears over the link between vaccines and blood clots.
Ministers yesterday admitted 557 cases of the South Africa variant and 103 of the India variant have been found in the UK to date.
