Lewis Capaldi was muted by the BRIT Awards this evening as he descended into a sweary rant on stage.

The chart-topper, 24, appeared on stage to give out an award to Dua Lipa.

But viewers were left stunned as the singer was continuously muted on stage - but not all of his swear words were caught as "f***ing" slipped through.

At the end of his speech, he flippantly remarked: "Some good s***."

Stunned fans flocked to Twitter to comment, with one tweeting: "lewis capaldi is drunk as a skunk hahah."

While another commented: "Nah Why’s Lewis Capaldi being rude man #brits2021."

Tonight's ceremony kicked off with an incredibly glitzy red carpet, with all eyes on Little Mix as they arrived in matching white outfits.

Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Perrie Edwards cradling their bumps as they graced the red carpet at London's O2 Arena.

Earlier, host Jack Whitehall couldn't resist a cheeky dig at Little Mix's "feud" as the now-trio made history by becoming the first female group to win Best British Band.

Since Jesy's exit, it's been reported that she doesn't even want to be mates with Jade, Perrie and Leigh-Anne, never mind work with them again.

And it's said that the remaining trio have been upset about some of the things Jesy has said and the fact that she's started working on her own music so quickly.

Ahead of the award, Jack spoke about the year of music and, in reference to the split, Jack quipped: "Little Mix got littler."

After winning the award, the trio in white joined the stage and were in tears over the win.

Perrie gushed: "Oh my goodness. Guys, we have just made history! I'm really emotional. In the hopes that he won the award, we made a little speech."

Leigh-Anne went on to read their speech, in which they thanked their absent former member.

She said: "We have been together for 10 years, it's been the best years of our lives... we want to thank our incredible fans and of course Jesy ...

"It's not easy being a female in the pop industry [but] we've stuck together

Jade added: "The fact that a girl band has never won this award speaks volumes."
