Preston North End are far from best mates with Leeds United but they could do their Yorkshire rivals a huge favour on Wednesday night.

The Lilywhites have Play-Off and promotion ambitions of their own, with Alex Neil's men sitting two points off sixth with three games to play.

Next up for them is arguably the toughest test at present - a trip to Griffin Park to take on third placed Brentford.

The Bees have won all seven of their matches since the restart and still haven't given up on an automatic promotion spot.

But a PNE win in London would leave them six points behind Leeds with two games to play, meaning the equation would be straight forward for Marcelo Bielsa's men,

If that happened and Leeds were to then beat Barnsley at Elland Road on Thursday, they would be promoted.

North End have drew 1-1 twice with Leeds this season, but Bielsa's men have been up there all season long and are closing in on a long-awaited return to the top flight.

And understandably, their fans are desperate for Preston to pave the way for their promotion party.

Jonny LUFC: Just had a phone call from the office at work! Friday and Saturday off, c'mon Preston and then let’s have it Leeds.

Ali: Swapped my shift on Thursday so I can watch the Barnsley match. Just hope Preston can win or draw away at Brentford on the Wednesday. This is our time.

Jordan: All Preston aren't we?

LUFC Lewis: IF, and it’s a big if, Brentford lose on Wednesday, we only need to draw on Thursday and we’re up. All Preston aren’t we?

James: If Preston win on Wednesday night and we win Thursday night, I will get "Alex Neil" tattooed on my knuckles!

Barry: Really hope Preston can do us a favour now on Wednesday, I can’t take much more of this run in...

Carol: So now we all become Preston fans! #lufc

Ben: Right PNE we’ve done you a favour to keep play-offs alive so time to return the favour..... pretty please #LUFC

Ricky: All Preston on Wednesday now aren't we?

Gary: Have I ever mentioned how much I love Preston North End and Alex Neil is a sterling guy?
