The political landscape across Lancashire is set to change following the May 6 local elections.

At Lancashire County Council, all 84 council seats are up for grabs across the 12 boroughs of Preston, Chorley, South Ribble, West Lancashire, Lancaster, Fylde, Wyre, Ribble Valley, Burnley, Pendle, Rossendale, and Hyndburn.

Blackburn with Darwen and Blackpool council areas are not represented on the county council meaning there are no elections in those areas.

Voting across the 12 county boroughs opened at 7am on Thursday, May 6 with the last votes cast at 10pm on the same day.

Votes are set to be counted on Friday morning with final declaration from mid-afternoon.

The county council runs matters including highways, education, social services, waste management, and health and wellbeing.
