Lanarkshire thug jailed after stabbing partner with corkscrew in holiday park

A Lanarkshire thug who scarred his girlfriend for life after stabbing her with a corkscrew has been jailed for 18 months.

"We are dealing with a much less serious issue than the original terms of the indictment, a fact that could move the dials toward realistic community-based dispositions."

Sheriff Murphy said: If the seriousness of the offense requires imprisonment.

"There are no alternatives open in court, but given your age this would be a lower level than otherwise."
