Hull KR’s heavy defeat to Wakefield - a game I attended live - just summed up the fact the Robins need to make real changes to their squad to ensure results in 2021 are far better than in 2020.

The 2020 season is one we will all remember for Covid 19, the disruption and, fortunately for Rovers, no relegation due to the Toronto Wolfpack’s failure to see out their fixtures.

It means the Red and Whites have the opportunity now to recruit for the 2021 season on an even playing field and compete for the quality players at the same time as all their Super League rivals.

Rovers have just three wins so far in 2020 which now sees them sit bottom of the ladder.

So what better way to grab a fourth win against all the odds, in tomorrow’s derby against cross-city rivals Hull FC?

Everything suggests the Red and Whites have no chance of winning, but that’s why we all love the derby, it’s so damn unpredictable.

A derby win would make a massive difference to the 2020 season for everyone involved at Rovers, most of all the players and supporters.

I suppose the latter of those two groups are more than disappointed in some sections.

The results haven’t been good enough, no matter how many plaudits you receive for the attractiveness of your attack, sticking in games and being difficult to beat. The results column doesn’t lie I’m afraid, just three wins thus far and that sees the club sat bottom of the pile with Toronto’s demise this season.
