Jurgen Klopp says it is too early to label Liverpool's trip to Chelsea as a game between two Premier League title contenders.
The champions travel to Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon looking to secure their third successive league win against Frank Lampard's Blues.
Unlike last season, however, Lampard has not had to work within the constraints of a transfer ban and the Londoners have been the big spenders in England this summer.
Over £200m has been spent by Lampard so far on Hakim Ziyech, Ben Chilwell, Timo Werner and Kai Havertz, while Thiago Silva has joined on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain.
Klopp though believes that spending alone does not make Chelsea automatic contenders, but said he is still expecting another difficult game against a team the Reds played four times across all competitions last term.
"It's too early [to say it's a game of title contenders]," Klopp said. "Because it is not about what we should achieve with the squads we have and things like this.
"You don't become a title contender because of the players you have or your name.
"You become a title contender because of the way you play football and this has to develop. That is nothing that I think a second about.
"What I know about Chelsea is, I have been in England for five years and all the games with different managers are always incredibly difficult because they are just a good team.
Thiago is a red!

"This year, OK, let's not forget they lost two players with Pedro and Willian who are really decisive players, but they have brought in some really good players and we all know that.
"I expect them to do really well and I expect us to do really well as well.

"This is not about contender versus contender, this is about two football teams who make sure that they can come in a position where other people can call them title contenders.
"It is too early but it will be a super game. There was no year when Chelsea v Liverpool was not, before the game, seen as a top game and now we have to make sure people will see that as well when they watch it."
