Katy Perry has ripped on Kanye West over his “wild” decision to run for President in the upcoming November 2020 election.

The 35-year-old chart topping star has collaborated with 34-year-old Kanye in the past – but doesn’t seem keen on him winning power in the White House.

Kanye stunned fans and the world last weekend when he declared his intention to run for President in the upcoming 2020 elections following years of threats.

But Katy – who released the 2011 single E.T. with Kanye – has backed away from any suggestion of supporting her former music contemporary over his political plans.

Katy Perry has spoken out against Kanye West's 2020 presidential election bid

She told Hits Radio: “What we’ve learned looking back is that the presidential job is best suited for someone with experience and that is a pro in their field.

“I think we have seen and learned from experience that when we don’t have pros in position, that it can get a little wild.”

Despite slamming Kanye’s chances of becoming president, Katy declared her support for the singer in his main field of expertise.

She gushed: “I love Kanye, he is amazing. I just, you know, I love him as an artist.

“And I think he’s an incredible disruptor as an artist and a conversation-maker as an artist.

“And that’s what I love the most about him.”

Elon Musk has backtracked after supporting Kanye

Kanye won support from billionaire businessman Elon Musk when he made his surprise announcement he was running for president last Saturday.

However, following an interview in Forbes magazine in which Kanye expressed his controversial views on abortion and vaccinations, Elon appeared to distance himself from the rapper.

The South African billionaire tweeted: “We may have more differences of opinion than I anticipated” following the release Kanye’s interview.
